Mechanics of Elastic Solids and Structures I

This course is suitable for students of mechanics, mechanical engineering, civil engineering and material sciences. The course introduces into the foundations of elasticity theory, it deals with inplane and bending plate problems, and it addresses the classical laminate theory for the analysis of composite structures. The course provides essential basics for a multitude of applications, for instance in light-weight constructions, in aeronautics, in spacecraft applications, in automotive engineering, in general mechanical engineering and also in civil engineering. Last not least the course can be understood as an essential basis for a computer-oriented numerical structural mechanics.

Course cycle: MES I – every winter semester
